How It Works

Dermal Filler contains a naturally occurring substance found in the skin and connective tissue of the body. This means they are biocompatible and carry a low risk for allergy or sensitivity.

The substance is hydrophilic (meaning they love and hold onto water in the skin), allowing them to maintain their volume and shape. Over time the dermal filler will be broken down by the body.

Common Areas We Treat

  • Lip augmentation, definition and volumisation

  • Reduction of lines in the lip area

  • Static lines (superficial to deep) around the face including nasolabial folds and marionette lines.

  • Restoration of lost volume in the cheeks and temples, smoothing facial contours and hollowing.

  • Tear Trough and periorbital rejuvenation (can assist in dark circles)

  • Chin enhancement

  • Jawline contouring

FAQS

Every new client of Southern Skin Clinic will require a full cosmetic consultation. This consultation will include clinical photography, skin assessment and facial assessment based on your concerns and expectations. Dr Khossousi and Nurse Wei will then tailor a treatment plan that is specific to you.

Treatment with dermal filler may involve discomfort. At Southern Skin clinic we prioritise your comfort and can supply a prescription numbing cream or block of the supplying nerve with local anaesthetic. The dermal filler used at Southern Skin Clinic also contains local anaesthetic to further reduce discomfort.

The treatment involves the injection of gel-like fluid through small needles or cannulas into the proposed treatment area with different techniques to disperse the filler in an aesthetically pleasing way.

The effect is seen immediately, but some patient will notice swelling for 24 to 48 hours so the final effect may not be observed until then. It may take up to 4 weeks for the dermal filler to stabilise and fully settle into the area. A follow up consultation is recommended at this time to assess the results.
