HOW IT WORKS

Our cosmetic nurse will take a series of photographs to record your total skin surface including your scalp, fingernails and the soles of your feet.

At Southern Skin Clinic we are proud to provide total body mole mapping services in addition to your general skin check.

Total body mole mapping allows for greater monitoring of both short and long terms changes in moles and skin lesions. Our unique technology is able to track the slightest of change in your skin lesions, giving you more peace of mind, and ensuring early detection of potentially dangerous lesions.

Following this you will have a consultation with Dr Ali who will image any abnormal or atypical moles at high magnification to ensure new or changing lesions are easily identified in future.

WHO SHOULD GET TOTAL BODY MOLE MAPPING?

Skin cancer prevention is for everyone. It is safe and recommended for everybody, however if you fit in to the following categories, we strongly recommend total body mole mapping:

  • You have a family or personal history of melanoma or other skin cancer.

  • You have multiple or atypical moles.

  • You have a history of high sun exposure

  • You have fair skin, tendency to burn, freckles, light eyes, light or red hair.
