Hyperhidrosis causes increased sweating without the usual stimuli of exercise, anxiety or rise in body temperature.
It is related to overactive sweat glands and is most common in the axilla, palms of hands and soles of feet, but can affect the whole body.
Hyperhidrosis can be secondary to a number of medical conditions including thyroid disease, diabetes, infections and even menopause and certain medication. Due to this excluding an underlying cause for hyperhidrosis prior to embarking on a treatment journey is vital. Consultation with Dr Khossousi is required to determine the need for further investigation, assessment and treatment.

Hyperhidrosis for which there is no underlying cause is called Primary Hyperhidrosis. It affects a large amount of the population and can cause a person to feel embarrassed, uncomfortable and put a strain on a person’s social life.
HOW ANTI-WRINKLE INJECTIONS WORK
The injection of anti-wrinkle medication can be an effective non-surgical option for treatment of hyperhidrosis. The injections which are the same use to treat fine lines and wrinkles help to block the excretion of sweat from the sweat glands, meaning a person sweats less giving relief from hyperhidrosis.
