Pigmentation is generally caused by an excessive production of melanin in the skin causing uneven colouration of the skins tone. It can be due to hormones, sun exposure, skin damage or hereditary reasons. It can make the skin appear uneven, sun damaged, dull and worn out.
At Southern Skin Clinic we are proud to use the Acroma Q switched Nd:YAG laser. This laser produces 2 wavelengths that make it useful for treating superficial pigmentation by emitting a high energy light to heat and break down pigmented cells for the body to clear through its natural healing process.

Every new client of Southern Skin Clinic will require a full cosmetic consultation. This consultation will include clinical photography, skin assessment and facial assessment based on your concerns and expectations. Dr Ali and Nurse Tess will then tailor a treatment plan that is specific to you.

The area will be cleansed and protective eyewear applied prior to treatment. It is a fast procedure that is very comfortable with minimal pain. You may notice an immediate darkening of the targeted pigment, this will flake off in during the healing phase.
